About HanSI
International Membership
International members are foreign nationals residing either in Korea or abroad who are qualified professionals in their respective fields and eligible to participate in
the activities of HanSI in line with its mission.
Eligibility for International Membership
Foreign nationals residing in Korea or abroad who meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Hold a doctoral degree
• Hold a position as a full-time lecturer (or higher) at a university, or as a senior researcher at a professional research institute
• Are licensed professionals such as medical doctors, lawyers, or certified public accountants who can contribute to HanSI’s mission
• Possess recognized expertise equivalent to the above qualifications
Application Procedure for International Membership
• Download the application form for International Membership (or International Graduate Student Membership)
• Complete and submit the membership application form
• Approval of membership
Recommendation required: A recommendation must be provided by either the President of HanSI, Abbot of Hanmaum Seon Center, Director of the HanSI,
or Abbot of a Hanmaum Seon Center branch in Korea or abroad. (A section for this is included in the application form.)
Activities of International Members

After receiving notification of membership approval, members may participate in various HanSI activities, such as Dharma seminars and
academic symposiums. Members are also required to complete the One Mind Interconnected Living Course. Monastic members must
additionally receive approval through the Sangha Operations Committee.
Opportunities for International Members include:
• Building a global academic network
• Participating in and presenting at academic conferences, symposia, and various seminars held both domestically and internationally
• Engaging in HanSI’s internal programs, including special lectures by experts, retreats, and research support initiatives
• Collaborating on joint research related to the one mind principle, with opportunities to propose new academic paradigms
