On behalf of the Hanmaum Science Institute members and the organizing committee, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the Seon Master Daehaeng 10th Year Memorial International Hanmaum Science Conference, in memory of Seon Master Daehaeng (1927-2012) who was one of Korea’s foremost Seon (Zen) masters and the founder of the Hanmaum Seonwon (Seon Center).

The conference theme will be ‘Covid-19, a Disaster or a Gift? : Mind, Science, and Religion.’ It will run from Friday, September 23, 2022 to Monday, September 26, 2022, and it will meet at the Hanmaum Seonwon Headquarter in Anyang, South Korea.

The conference seeks to encourage a form of scholarly communication that shapes concerns and talks about possible solutions with respect to the common crises which exist today in our world and planet since the outbreak of Covid-19. We seek to try and reflect more deeply about the foundations of our common human nature irrespective of religion, culture, region, class, nationality, gender and so on.

We work to provide a platform that encourages interdisciplinary and interreligious or intrareligious colloquy and dialogue between scholars and religious professionals who come from different fields and diverse backgrounds. We would also like to construct and offer a social space where participants can keep in touch with each other, long after our conference ends. We would hope that you would be able to join us in this special event.

Thank you for considering the Hanmaum Science Conference as a venue for the good work that you try to do.

With every best wish and kind regards,

Ven. Hyesu
